In the relationship of friendly, introverted and dashing Count Almaviva to passionately dignified Countess Almaviva lacks that sexual abandon that defines the relationship of the exuberant Figaro to Susanna bold Sun The persistent tingling between Marcellina and Bartolo suggests, however, what may come alive on another site. The resulting high-definition production is complemented by the beauty of the scenery and the light first class. Antonio Pappano conducts with invigorating wit and emotional depth of the recorded music in surround sound.
